Handmade Porcelain Pot with the words Dwynwen Bach, which means Little Dwynwen in Welsh. Once I made the pot shape in porcelain clay, I have dried and decorated the dish, hand painting with underglaze.Its then bisque fired and Glazed and fired for a second time. Hand washing the pot is advisable and the glaze used is food safe. A cute fun gift from Wales especially for a loved one.The pot measures 9.3 cm in diameter and is 11 cm high to the top of Dwynwens head.

The story of Saint Dwynwen is that she left home to prevent her father from making her marry for power or greed. She became a nun and travelled Wales, setting up churches and praying for those who were troubled in love. Her final stop was the island of Llanddwyn, off the coast of Anglesey,(near where I live) where the remains of Dwynwen's church can be seen today.
Dydd Santes Dwynwen or St Dwynwen's Day celebrates love and lovers and takes place every year on the 25th of January. Often referred to as the Welsh St Valentine's Day, there's a heartbreaking love story behind this cherished saint, who holds a special place in Welsh hearts.
